Exam Procedure (Sample)

There are both paper exams and online exams.
The procedure for requesting them is different.

FOR PAPER EXAMS:

1.
Make sure you choose "Greek 1" in the dropdown as the course!
2.
You may have the exam emailed to your proctor as a MS Word 2000 document. If you choose this, make sure:

a.
The machine your proctor uses has at least Word 2000

b.
The machine your proctor uses has the Greek font Teknia installed.

Email exams are instantly emailed to your proctor, along with instructions for him or her.

Click here to order a paper exam.

FOR ONLINE EXAMS:

1.
The computer on which the exam is to be taken MUST have the TekniaGreek font.
2.
You WILL need to know the TekniaGreek keyboard mapping to fill in the online exam. You may print out a copy and use it during the exam.
3.
The URL for the online exam is instantly emailed to your proctor, along with instructions for him or her.
REMEMBER! The Greek fonts do NOT display properly in Internet Explorer! Netscape or Firefox are by far the preferred browser for the exams, as it is for the entire course.
4.
If your exam successfully submits, you be redirected to a Confirmation Page, with your answers and the correct ones on it. This means your exam has been posted. If you do NOT see this confirmation page, then your exam did not go through. Email virtualgreek@rts.edu immediately.

About the Exams

  • The exams are modeled on the Practice Exams and the Workbook Reviews.
  • All exams are cumulative.
  • Prepare for the exams by going over the lessons, doing all assigned exercises in the Workbook and in Greek Tutor, and by taking the corresponding Practice Exam.
  • You will receive a grade and detailed comments about your exam within a week of our receiving it. Since we receive online exams instantly upon submission, you should get your grade within one week. For paper exams.

How the Process Works

  • A proctor can be anyone who is not related to you and / or is not taking the class for which they are proctoring you.
  • READ the Exam Proctor Form so you will know what is expected of both you and your proctor. Note that for hard copy paper exams you are to provide your proctor with a stamped envelope addressed to the Virtual Campus, in which the proctor is to mail both the exam and the Exam Proctor Form. The proctor form for online exams is online; your proctor gets the URL in an email from RTS Virtual.

NOTE: Your exam is VOID without the Exam Proctor Form!

  • YOU are responsible to return the exam to the proctor on time. Do not expect the proctor to keep track of your time.
  • You must take the exam in one sitting, using only a pencil or pen. You must enclose any scrap paper with the exam.
  • Any deviation from the procedure or on the Exam Proctor Form will result in nullification of your exam!
