Once you have selected a timetable that
fits your schedule, 1. Before you begin, read my comments About Learning Greek. 2. Turn to the end of the textbook chapter and begin by learning the vocabulary words. Write out the words. Even though Greek Tutor comes with vocabulary
cards, there are two reasons to write out the words yourself:
After you have written out the words, work through them both visually and using the Mounce CD. (Vocabulary words begin in chapter 3.) You should plan to spend a minimum of 20 minutes per day listening to or looking at the vocabulary words. 3. Read through the chapter. NOTE - While the Advanced Information in Mounce's text is useful and well worth your reading, you will not be tested on it in Greek I. You'll have your hands full with the rest of the material! As you read through the chapter, consult the supplementary Webnotes, which help explain the material. You may want to print out the Webnotes. 4. Open the Mounce CD and listen to his lecture fo that chapter. Then review the vocabulary words for the chapter. (Choose the Learning the Basics of Biblical Greek option. If you need help negotiating his CD, see tips for using the vocabulary function of the Mounce CD page) . 5. Work through the section of Greek Tutor (CD-ROM) that corresponds with material covered in Mounce. See Greek Tutor/Mounce Correlation Chart (not accessed from this page). 6. Review Mounce's Summary at the end the textbook chapter. 7. Complete the corresponding chapter in the workbook. Consult the supplementary workbook comments found in each section of the Webnotes. You may find it helpful to print out these Webnotes. A New American Standard Bible is helpful for checking your work in the Translation section. 8. Review Mounce's Summary at the end the workbook chapter. 9. Review the vocabulary words for the chapter. 10. Proceed to next chapter and repeat the above. 11. There are 4 exams, after chapters 4, 9, 14, and 20.
Use the Study Guide to prepare for the final exam (not accessed from this page). See the Exam Procedure page for info on how to request an exam. Email lab assistance is available to enrolled students.
